The Yamuna River in Delhi has exceeded the warning level once again, officials reported on Sunday. As of 7 pm, the river touched the 204.60-meter mark at the Old Railway Bridge, an essential observation point for monitoring potential flood threats.

In the capital, the warning mark is set at 204.50 meters, and evacuations begin when water levels reach 206 meters. To prevent a flood-like situation, agencies are prepared to take necessary precautionary steps as projections indicate continued rising water levels.

The rise is attributed mainly to significant hourly water releases from the Wazirabad and Hathnikund barrages, with the highest seasonal release from Hathnikund recorded at approximately 127,030 cusecs. These discharges take about two days to reach Delhi, steadily pushing water levels to near-dangerous thresholds.
