An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 shook the Ramechhap district in eastern Nepal on Sunday, causing unease among residents.
According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre (NEMRC), the epicenter was identified at Helamcho in Ramechhap, 150 kilometers east of the capital, Kathmandu. Thankfully, no immediate damages have been reported.
The tremors extended to neighboring districts, including Dolakha, Sindhuli, and Kavrepalanchowk, highlighting once again Nepal's position within the perilous Himalayan seismic zone, making it prone to frequent earthquakes.
