Delhi is taking decisive action against persistent waterlogging issues in the Janakpuri area. Education Minister Ashish Sood, during an inspection following heavy rains, observed that nearly two feet of water had submerged main roads due to inadequate drainage systems.
Minister Sood instructed Delhi Jal Board officials to immediately clear the clogged sewer lids and drains. The recurring problem has raised significant concerns among residents who are urging for a sustainable solution.
Additionally, the minister addressed complaints regarding public disruptions caused by open drinking and loud music near a local liquor shop, directing police deployment in the area for enhanced security. Sood also ordered repairs for a damaged police outpost in the vicinity.
