Heavy rains pummeled Chandigarh on Tuesday, causing widespread traffic disruptions and waterlogging in numerous areas. Roads leading to Panchkula were particularly affected, stranding vehicles in severe traffic jams.

The parking lot of the Punjab and Haryana Civil Secretariats faced flooding, while waterlogging in Sector 11-15's underpass prompted fire officials to intervene. Two floodgates of Sukhna Lake were opened to manage the water overflow.

PGIMER also faced immediate waterlogging following the showers, inconveniencing visitors. An office worker reported the northern sectors were worst affected, while southern areas escaped the deluge. Patiala authorities issued advisories to residents near the Ghaggar river about rising water levels.
