Tragedy Strikes During Building Demolition in Central Delhi
Three workers in central Delhi lost their lives after a portion of a building being demolished collapsed. Zubair, Taufiq, and Gulsagar were trapped under the debris. In a tragic incident, three workers were killed when a building undergoing demolition collapsed near Sadbhavna Park in central Delhi's Daryaganj on Wednesday. The victims have been identified as Zubair, 24, his uncle Taufiq, 32, and Gulsagar, 30, according to officials.
At the time of the incident, fifteen people were reportedly working on the site. Zubair and Taufiq were on the second floor when part of the structure gave way. Gulsagar, who attempted to save them, was also caught under the debris as more of the building crumbled down, a senior police official recounted.
A case has been registered against the property's owners, Nadeem and Yusuf Malik, and associated builders and contractors for causing death by negligence. Rescue efforts were spearheaded by the police, fire services, and the National Disaster Response Force, who worked diligently to clear the ruins and transport the injured to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital.
