At least 11 fishermen remain missing while 17 have been rescued following the capsizing of three boats in the Arabian Sea near Amreli district, according to officials.

The incident took place on Tuesday evening amid rough seas and severe weather conditions, prompting a large-scale rescue mission involving the Coast Guard and local fishermen, explained Amreli district collector Vikalp Bhardwaj.

The search operation, currently involving a Coast Guard vessel and two hovercrafts, is set to expand with aircraft once weather conditions improve. A National Disaster Response Force team has been deployed at Jafrabad as the search continues.
