Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day visit to Gujarat, highlighting a major push in the state's urban development sector. During his visit, Modi will inaugurate 1,449 houses and 130 shops built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), an initiative designed to transform slum areas into modern habitats.

This large-scale project was executed under the Slum Rehabilitation and Redevelopment Policy-2013 by Gujarat's Urban Development and Housing Department. It signifies substantial progress, with 9.66 lakh houses sanctioned against a target of 7.64 lakh, demonstrating the state's commitment to housing development.

Additional schemes provide further financial assistance, notably under the 'Mukhyamantri Protsahak Sahay Yojana' and Swachh Bharat Mission, aimed at supporting beneficiaries with incentives for timely construction, bathroom facilities, and overall housing completion.
