Mumbai aims to rid its roads of potholes in time for the Ganesh festival on August 27, according to assurances made by BJP ministers. The announcement comes after 8,000 complaints were raised regarding potholes in the city.
Minister Ashish Shelar revealed that directives were given to local agencies to address all potholes within a three-day window. This push involves multiple bodies like the BMC, MSRDC, and MMRDA.
Mumbais' efforts will use 'mastic asphalt technology' for repairs, deemed more effective, with a particular focus on flyovers to reduce congestion. Failure of the MSRDC to comply swiftly will result in the BMC stepping in to complete the repairs.
