A deep depression over the Bay of Bengal has intensified further, located 250 km east of Visakhapatnam as of Thursday.
The depression moved north-northwestwards at 17 kmph, centering in the west-central and adjoining Bay areas. Predicted to target the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh coast, its imminent landfall is expected by October 2 night.
The Meteorological Department warns of moderate thunderstorms with winds up to 60 kmph and heavy rain across several districts, including Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam, while other areas will experience moderate rainfall and gusty winds.
