Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla embarked on a visit to Kullu district's Manali, aiming to assess the aftermath of recent monsoon rains and flooding. The Governor scrutinized the seriously damaged national highway stretch between Kullu and Manali, voicing deep concerns about the extensive destruction at multiple sites.

During his visit to Solang village, Shukla engaged with local residents, attentively listening to their concerns. Declaring the floods as devastating, he highlighted the significant damage to roads and surrounding regions, stressing the need for immediate repair efforts. Shukla urged a coordinated meeting between the state government and National Highway Authority of India to devise a lasting solution.

Shukla's review also covered Bindu Dhank, Manalsu Nallah, Aloo Ground, and Chauribihal, receiving briefings from the Border Roads Organisation and General Reserve Engineer Force on ongoing reconstruction and relief efforts. He pinpointed the Solang village landslide as a critical issue, emphasizing the urgency of rehabilitating affected agricultural lands and residents.
