Uttar Pradesh is battling severe heatwave conditions as temperatures soar above 40 degrees Celsius in several regions. According to the Meteorological Department, Prayagraj registered a scorching 44.4 degrees Celsius, marking the highest temperature in the state. Other cities like Varanasi, Banda, and Sultanpur also reported extremely high temperatures.
The state capital, Lucknow, recorded a maximum temperature of 41.6 degrees Celsius, which is significantly above the average, with a minimum of 24.0 degrees Celsius. Despite the intense heat, no rainfall was reported in the region, and relative humidity levels remained low.
The Meteorological Department warns that dry weather will persist with clear skies expected over Lucknow and surrounding areas. Heatwave conditions are likely to continue, particularly in western Uttar Pradesh, with warmer nights anticipated. Citizens are advised to stay cautious as temperatures remain high.
