The government of Himachal Pradesh has made 20% of rooms in its major guest accommodations accessible for direct online booking. This initiative covers the state Bhawan and Sadan in Delhi, the Sadan in Chandigarh, and the Willy's Park circuit house in Shimla.
The general administration department (GAD) announced that 24 rooms, previously managed via internal reservations, are now available digitally, enhancing transparency and cutting down on proxy bookings. Bookings can be made up to seven days in advance, a leap from the prior method.
Out of the total 50 rooms at Himachal Bhawan in New Delhi, 29 are GAD-controlled and the rest by the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC). In Chandigarh and Shimla, a similar distribution exists to manage and optimize occupancy effectively.
