Madhya Pradesh has emerged as the leading state in stubble burning incidents, registering 25,144 cases between April 1 and 23, according to official data.
The Vidisha district, part of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's Lok Sabha constituency, recorded the highest number of incidents with 3,037 cases, followed by Uttar Pradesh with 10,604.
The CREAMS initiative, leveraging satellite data, highlights the environmental and health concerns arising from this practice, which is a major contributor to air pollution through the release of pollutants and greenhouse gases.
