Jammu Sizzles Under Heatwave Conditions

On Saturday, Jammu endured severe heatwave conditions, with the city thermometer hitting 39.5 degrees Celsius. This temperature is notably 5.1 degrees above the usual, according to meteorological officials.
Not only did Jammu experience this sweltering climate, but Katra town also faced elevated temperatures. The pilgrimage hub recorded a high of 36 degrees Celsius, which is 6.2 degrees above the normal threshold. Night temperatures in both locations also remained significantly high, indicating an ongoing struggle with heat.
The Meteorological Department forecasts that these hot, dry conditions will persist in Jammu's plains for the upcoming four days. Residents have been advised to stay hydrated, avoid excessive sun exposure, and take necessary precautions to cope with the ongoing heatwave.
