Residents of Jharkhand, who have been grappling with a severe heatwave, can expect a drop in temperatures as the India Meteorological Department predicts showers starting Monday.
Daltonganj, one of the state's hottest areas, hit 44.6 degrees Celsius, while the capital city of Ranchi recorded temperatures significantly above normal.
According to Ranchi Meteorological Centre Deputy Director Abhishek Anand, relief is imminent due to a cyclonic circulation over east Bihar which is expected to bring rain and cooler weather early in the week.
