In a tragic turn of events, three women were killed in a horrific car crash in the Mathgharia area of Guwahati early Sunday morning. The accident occurred when their vehicle collided with a stationary truck and subsequently flipped several times, as stated by police officials.

The car, registered to an individual in Dhemaji and rented to a travel agency, left the scene with its driver missing. Police have been unable to locate the driver, who is now the focus of an active investigation. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Jayanta Sarathi Borah confirmed that the severely injured women were taken to a hospital, where two were declared dead on arrival and the third succumbed to injuries shortly after.

The victims were identified as Akansha Saikia, Puja Saha, and Neha Khan. While Akansha and Puja worked at a private university and shared accommodations, Neha was a student living separately. The tragic incident is a stark reminder of the fragility of life, emphasizing the need for road safety and the ongoing efforts to trace the missing driver.
