The Regional Meteorological Centre announced on Sunday that several districts in Tamil Nadu have already surpassed the 100°F mark, raising concerns as temperatures are expected to climb further, with Vellore reaching a sweltering 105°F. This marks an alarming trend as hot weather continues to dominate the region.
Dry weather conditions are prevalent across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. However, meteorologists predict the possibility of 'light to moderate rain' in isolated coastal districts of the Cauvery delta, the Western Ghats, southern coastal Tamil Nadu, and Karaikal between April 27 and April 29.
Moreover, from April 30 to May 2, Coimbatore, the Nilgiris, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, and Krishnagiri districts might experience 'moderate to heavy rain' accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Temperatures are expected to remain above normal by 2 to 3°C in some interior pockets, with coastal areas bracing for high heat and humidity until April 30.
