A deadly tornado-producing thunderstorm wreaked havoc in northern Texas, claiming at least two lives and leaving dozens without shelter, local authorities reported Sunday.

The storm struck hardest in Runaway Bay, where one individual lost their life and many homes suffered extensive destruction. County Judge J.D. Clark reported ongoing efforts by emergency responders to clear the debris and provide necessary medical support despite blocked roads and damaged utilities.

In Springtown, the weather system claimed another life and inflicted significant property damage, according to Parker County Assistant Fire Chief David Pruitt. The National Weather Service has identified two tornadoes in the area, with winds reaching up to 217 kph.
