Vihang Ahead, the residential and commercial development arm of the Vihang Group, on Tuesday announced the dual signing of properties in Thane and Mira Bhayandar in partnership with Radisson Hotel Group. The two new properties, Radisson Hotel Mumbai Thane and Radisson Hotel Mumbai Mira Bhayandar, with a total of 217 keys, will be developed with a capex of Rs 200 crore through internal accruals. They are expected to become operational in 3-4 years and 5 years, respectively, Vihang Ahead director Purvesh Pratap Sarnaik told PTI. The company has two properties with a total of 57 keys under the Vihang brand in Thane, Sarnaik said, adding that these hotels will create over 200 jobs, especially for locals. ''These signings align with that strategy, allowing us to deepen our footprint within high-growth urban clusters and cater to evolving demand from business and MICE segments. By building scale in such locations, we are well positioned to address the next phase of urban expansion in India's leading cities,'' said Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director and COO, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group. Talking about the way forward, Sarnaik said, ''We have another five properties in the pipeline in Mira Bhayandar, all of which will be under international brands. We are in active talks with many international brands and will announce the collaborations in this financial year''. Going forward, the company is also keen to expand its footprint across Maharashtra and look for opportunities, especially in cities with high business traffic that lack an international brand, he noted. ''We are keen to expand in Maharashtra as the state provides huge potential and has an appetite for luxury. We are looking at opportunities to build properties in MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation), spiritual or even wellness sectors. We are looking at opportunities in places with no international brands and luxury hotels, but have huge demand for them,'' he added.
