Jaipur, Apr 29 (PTI): Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade on Wednesday urged people to actively participate in the first phase of the Census 2027 and provide accurate information. According to a government release, people can fill out their details on the self-enumeration portal between May 1 and May 15, while census officials will conduct a door-to-door survey from May 16 to June 14. The census will be conducted in two phases. In the first phase, information related to housing conditions, amenities, and other key details will be gathered through a mobile application. In the second phase, scheduled for February 2027, the focus will be on capturing detailed demographic, socio-economic, cultural, migration, and fertility-related information of individuals across households Bagade said the census is not merely a headcount, but a comprehensive social document, containing data such as education, employment, gender ratio and caste. Bagade said the census would help in implementing welfare programmes, development schemes and effective policies for citizens across the country.
