In a development more than a year after a tragic construction accident in Maharashtra's Thane district, three individuals have been charged with causing death by negligence, according to police sources.
The case was registered against the accused - a safety manager, a safety supervisor, and an engineer - after a detailed probe into the December 16, 2024 incident, which resulted in the death of 22-year-old worker Jairaj Balkubhai Kamlia.
Authorities have cited a failure to implement necessary safety measures and provide protective equipment as primary factors leading to the fatal wall collapse at Bhiwandi Road railway station.
