Housing sales in India saw a 2% decline in the first quarter of 2026, according to PropTiger's latest report. The downturn was noticed across eight major cities, including Mumbai and Pune, which reported significant decreases.
Remarkably, Bengaluru bucked the trend, with sales soaring by 33% to 15,603 units. This success highlights Bengaluru's resilient market, driven by a strong employment base and evolving social infrastructure, according to real estate experts.
The report notes a balanced market with stable new supply aligning with sales absorption and moderate price appreciation in all cities. Bengaluru's performance, alongside its robust employment ecosystem, appears to be a key driver of its positive trajectory in housing sales.
