HIMUDA Initiative: Empowering Youth and Revitalizing Urban Growth in Himachal Pradesh

In a strategic move to foster economic growth and boost employment, the Himachal Pradesh government is set to provide financing of up to Rs 5 lakh per proposal under the HIMUDA Start-up and Student Innovation Policy. This announcement was made by Town & Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani during a recent review meeting of the Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA).

The policy aims to establish a robust ecosystem for innovation and start-ups, particularly focusing on ventures related to disaster management, considering the state's geographical challenges. Dharmani emphasized that HIMUDA projects are not only addressing housing needs but also serving as significant revenue sources for the state.

The minister highlighted ongoing urban development projects such as Him Chandigarh, Him Panchkula, and Kangra Valley Aero City, which seek to promote balanced regional development and alleviate urban pressure. Additionally, a riverfront development project along the Sirsa River is planned, aligned with environmental conservation goals. An integrated digital platform under HIMUDA's e-initiative model will further streamline processes for stakeholders.
