Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to save fuel, the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra has ordered carpooling for its 24 senior officials.
Seven electric cars will be used to ferry 18 officials while six officials will use two diesel cars, the order said.
On Monday, commissioner Amol Yedge rode a bicycle and Mayor Sameer Rajurkar an electric scooter to office.
