A tragic encounter with wildlife turned fatal for a 35-year-old woman in Jharkhand's Lohardaga district. Police reported that she was trampled by a wild elephant on Tuesday morning.
The unfortunate incident took place in Bedal Tangra Toli village, within the Bhandra police station area. Despite being rushed to a government hospital, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Local authorities confirmed that the victim's family received an initial relief payment of Rs 30,000. The complete compensation of Rs 4 lakh will follow after necessary formalities are completed, as per state policy for such incidents.
