Indian Air Force Helicopters Combat Kasauli Forest Fire
Indian Air Force helicopters were called in to tackle a forest fire near Kasauli, engulfing a large area of woodland. While fire teams and tenders struggled, military helicopters aided by water from Sukhna Lake attempted to control the blaze as efforts continued.

A forest fire erupted near Kasauli, prompting action from the Indian Air Force, officials revealed on Tuesday. The inferno, close to the local Air Force Station, consumed vast swathes of forest land.
Forestry teams and fire officers faced challenges in containing the flames. Consequently, the Air Force commissioned Mil Mi-17 and Chinook helicopters, employing them to access hard-to-reach areas infused with flames. Water was transported from Chandigarh's Sukhna Lake to assist in quelling the blaze.
Despite ongoing efforts, the fire remained active at last reports. Moreover, Rajhana village near Shimla witnessed another forest fire, spurring rapid response by emergency services.
Authorities have attributed these incidents to spiking temperatures observed over recent days.
