Iraq Orders Oil Resumption in Kurdistan Amidst Drone Threats

Iraq's Prime Minister, Ali al-Zaidi, has instructed oil companies to recommence activities in the Kurdistan region starting Thursday. This decision comes in response to recent shutdowns caused by several drone attacks on oil and gas infrastructure.

Several energy firms operating in Iraqi Kurdistan had ceased production following these security threats, causing significant disruptions to the oil supply flows from the region.

The halts in production are contributing to broader Middle Eastern supply challenges, compounded by Iran's closure of the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
