Cricket Under Siege: IPL and PSL Matches Suspended Amidst Indo-Pak Conflict
The Indian Premier League and Pakistan Super League postponed matches due to escalating Indo-Pak tensions. The IPL was suspended for a week, while the PSL postponed its final matches. The BCCI and PCB emphasize national security and players' mental well-being amid escalating border conflicts.

The cricketing world witnesses disruptions as escalating tensions between India and Pakistan lead to the suspension of major cricket events. The Indian Premier League (IPL) and Pakistan Super League (PSL) have both announced suspensions of their matches amid the ongoing conflict between the neighbouring nations.
On Friday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declared an immediate one-week suspension of the IPL 2025, prioritizing national sovereignty over the competition. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) initially relocated PSL games to the UAE, only to later postpone on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Amidst the exchanges of military actions between the two countries, both the BCCI and PCB have emphasized prioritizing the collective interest and mental well-being of players. While the IPL will announce new dates and venues shortly, the PCB calls for a 'respectful pause' in cricket until tensions ease.
