Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt has announced his squad for the upcoming test against Fiji, revealing that lock Will Skelton is the sole overseas-based player to be included. The match is Australia's only warm-up before facing the British & Irish Lions.
Selecting from a pool of familiar talent, Schmidt included newcomers Corey Toole and Nick Champion De Crespigny as the only uncapped players in the 36-man roster. He acknowledged the challenging selection process, noting the excitement for some players and disappointment for others.
While maintaining much of last year's squad, there are fresh faces and some returning players who have proven their form in Super Rugby Pacific. Australia's squad for the Fiji clash includes seasoned veterans like hooker Dave Porecki, while notable absentees include Lukhan Salakaia-Loto and James O'Connor.
