India's Young Cricket Stars Set to Shine Against England

England's Test captain Ben Stokes lauded the young talent in the Indian cricket squad, describing it as 'enormous' ahead of the first Test in the five-match series at Headingley. The series, part of the World Test Championship, marks India's first without seasoned players Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravichandran Ashwin, who have retired from the format.

Stokes acknowledged the absence of these stars but emphasized that the new players would not make the game any easier, given India's vast pool of talent. 'Although Virat, Rohit, and Ashwin have done amazing things, their replacements are equally challenging due to India's expansive cricket reservoir,' he said.

The upcoming series, spanning from June to August 2025, will put the spotlight on fresh faces like Test captain Shubman Gill, seamer Arshdeep Singh, and batter Sai Sudarshan. These players bring promising records and are eager to fill the shoes of their predecessors as India aims for success in the World Test Championship.
