Sabalenka's Spectacular Comeback Seals Berlin Open Semi-Final Spot
Aryna Sabalenka delivered a thrilling victory over Elena Rybakina in the Berlin Open quarter-final. After being down 6-2 in the third-set tiebreak, the world number one saved four match points to secure her place in the semi-finals. Chinese qualifier Wang Xinyu also advanced following Paula Badosa's injury withdrawal.

Aryna Sabalenka, the world number one, demonstrated exceptional resilience to overcome Elena Rybakina in a high-stakes Berlin Open quarter-final match. Despite trailing 6-2 in the final-set tiebreak, Sabalenka's determination saw her save four match points, ultimately defeating Rybakina 7-6(6) 3-6 7-6(6).
The Belarusian's comeback was marked by her ability to reel off five consecutive points, capitalizing on Rybakina's errors under pressure. The first set featured a back-and-forth battle with Sabalenka clinching the tiebreak 8-6, while Rybakina dominated the second set, winning 6-3. In the decisive third set, Sabalenka held her nerve to force a tiebreak, leading to a dramatic victory.
Elsewhere, Chinese qualifier Wang Xinyu booked her semi-final spot after eighth seed Paula Badosa retired with a hip injury. Wang, who had previously defeated Coco Gauff, will play for a place in the finals against either Amanda Anisimova or Liudmila Samsonova.
