In a gripping display of resilience, Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova defended match points for the second consecutive day, propelling herself into the quarter-finals of the Eastbourne WTA 250 event on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old Czech, battling a thigh strain, faced elimination when she trailed 0-40 while serving at 5-6 in the final set against British challenger Jodie Burrage. However, Krejcikova managed a remarkable comeback to secure a 6-4, 4-6, 7-6(3) victory.

Despite a promising start, with Krejcikova claiming the first set and gaining a break in the second, Burrage levelled the match. The British player couldn't capitalize on three match points in the decider, eventually falling to Krejcikova's determined final push in the tiebreak.
