Reigning Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova is optimistic as she prepares to defend her title against Alexandra Eala, despite a recent injury setback. Krejcikova withdrew from the Eastbourne Open this week before the quarterfinal due to injury concerns.
In a pre-match press conference, Krejcikova revealed that she had to pause her tennis activities but engaged in off-court rehabilitation. 'I've been feeling better each day, and I'm hopeful that by Tuesday I'll be ready for a good match and a successful tournament,' she expressed confidently.
Krejcikova's upcoming Wimbledon match marks her return to the major stage after a significant thigh injury kept her sidelined from November to May. 'Being back feels wonderful even after such a long break. It's challenging yet enjoyable, and I eagerly anticipate Tuesday's match,' she said.
