The festivities commenced with an energetic rally at Delhi's historic Jantar Mantar, drawing hundreds of enthusiastic participants, including players, coaches, and students, led by the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI).
Organized by the KKFI, the day's events featured a dynamic magic show and a quiz competition focused on Kho Kho's history and evolution. The celebrations fostered community unity and heightened international awareness of Kho Kho's growing momentum. Regional federations across India participated, marking National Kho Kho Day with various local activities.
Sudhanshu Mittal, KKFI and International Kho Kho Federation President, praised the international recognition of Kho Kho, now played in 56 countries. The aspiration to include Kho Kho in the 2030 Asian Games and 2032 Olympics underscores the sport's ambitious future. Support from over 30 countries, including Australia and Vietnam, mirrors this global commitment to Kho Kho.
This year's International Kho Kho Day also launched the first Advanced III-A Level Training Programme for coaches and officials, attracting over 230 participants, including international figures. Excitement builds for the Ultimate Kho Kho auction featuring international players. With India's leadership, Kho Kho's international growth promises an exciting trajectory.
