Thrilling Start to 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship in Ranchi

The 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2025 kicked off with much enthusiasm at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Day one witnessed victories for Hockey Himachal, Assam Hockey, Hockey Karnataka, Manipur Hockey, and Hockey Gujarat, setting the tone for an exhilarating tournament.

In a dominant display, Hockey Himachal triumphed over Hockey Rajasthan 7-0. Navneet Kaur's hat-trick and contributions from Riya, Palak Chaudhary, and Sonam ensured a resounding victory. Assam Hockey also showed prowess with a 7-1 win against Goans Hockey, highlighted by hat-tricks from Ritika Tigga and Jyoshna Ekka.

In a thrilling encounter, Telangana Hockey and Hockey Jammu & Kashmir played to a 2-2 draw. Akshra Dutta's two goals for Jammu & Kashmir were met with an equalizer by Telangana's Anu Kumari. Hockey Karnataka defeated Kerala Hockey 3-1, while Manipur Hockey overcame Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey with a 3-0 victory. In Division 'B', Hockey Gujarat's solid performance secured a 3-0 win against Hockey Bengal.
