Nat Sciver-Brunt, captain of England's women's cricket team, will miss the crucial third T20I against India due to a left groin injury, confirmed by a statement from the England and Wales Cricket Board on the eve of the match.

The outcome of her scan results will decide if she must miss more games in the five-match series. The next match is scheduled for Manchester on July 9, followed by the series finale in Birmingham on July 12. In Sciver-Brunt's absence, Tammy Beaumont will lead the squad for the first time, with Maia Bouchier joining as cover.

Addressing her new role, Beaumont said, "It's a real pride and honor to captain the team, despite the challenging circumstances." With India holding a 2-0 advantage, Beaumont is tasked with rallying her team to avoid a series defeat.

Beaumont emphasized maintaining composure amid adversity. "The worst thing we could do now is panic," she remarked. Despite setbacks, including being without their captain, Beaumont remains focused on crafting a comeback against India's formidable lineup.
