Indian Shuttlers Soar in Latest BWF Rankings

In a remarkable showing, India's badminton stars have made notable advancements in the latest BWF World Rankings. Leading the charge are Asian Games gold medallists Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, who leapt back into the top 10 of the men's doubles rankings. Despite their semifinal defeat at the China Open against the Malaysian duo of Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, the pair has demonstrated resilience and steady performance this season.

Adding to India's success, Lakshya Sen, the top-ranked Indian in men's singles, has climbed two positions to secure the 17th spot. HS Prannoy followed suit, advancing two spots to claim the 33rd spot. Meanwhile, the women's singles category saw a stellar performance from 17-year-old Unnati Hooda, who landed at a career-best 31st after conquering double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu in a tough pre-quarterfinal match.

PV Sindhu remains India's highest-ranked player in women's singles at 15th. In women's doubles, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand hold firm at 11th, while Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa made progress, advancing two positions to 45th. These achievements underscore the competitive spirit and growth of Indian badminton players on the global stage.
