In a dazzling display of cricket and culture, the second edition of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) begins on August 2 at the illustrious Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. This year's opening ceremony, inspired by the inaugural edition's vibrant concert, promises an enthralling symphony of sport and song that's set to raise the bar for cricket league launches across the globe.

The event will feature stellar performances by Punjabi pop icon Sunanda Sharma, renowned rapper Raftaar, lyrical virtuoso KRSNA, and electrifying hip-hop duo Seedhe Maut, guaranteeing an evening of glamour and high-octane energy. Under the dazzling lights of Delhi, the DPL fuses cricket with cultural exuberance, echoing the city's bold, vibrant spirit.

According to DPL's press release, Rohan Jaitley, President of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), expressed excitement over introducing this fresh chapter of cricket. As the South Delhi Superstarz face off against the reigning champions East Delhi Riders, stars like Navdeep Saini and Anuj Rawat will headline the first thrilling encounter, setting the tone for the season marked by emerging talent and engaging fans across the city.

The men's competition's climax is scheduled for August 31, 2025, with a contingency date on September 1 for weather-related delays. The women's competition will run from August 17 to August 24, showcasing an exhilarating week of cricket.
