Veteran Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon expressed his disappointment after being omitted from Australia's playing XI for the final Test in the Caribbean. This uncommon exclusion was due to the pitch conditions favoring pace, leading to an all-seam attack, as ESPNcricinfo reported.

Lyon missed playing in close friend Mitchell Starc's 100th Test, a milestone he was eager to share. "I was disappointed, especially as I believe I can play a role in any conditions," Lyon said. Despite his absence, Lyon supported the team's decision, which resulted in an outstanding performance by the Australian pacers.

Reflecting on his future, Lyon emphasized his readiness to continue contributing to the team. In preparation for upcoming challenges, he is set for a stint with New South Wales and aims to participate in the Big Bash League with the Melbourne Renegades after the Ashes.
