Bumrah's Uncertain Role as Series Decider Looms: Coach Kotak Updates
Indian batting coach Sitanshu Kotak confirms that Jasprit Bumrah is fit but has not been confirmed for the final Test against England. With India trailing 1-2, Bumrah’s involvement remains undecided due to workload management, despite being India’s top performer with 14 wickets in the series.

On Tuesday, Indian batting coach Sitanshu Kotak announced that although World No. 1 seamer Jasprit Bumrah is now physically fit, no decision has been made on his participation in the crucial fifth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy against England, commencing July 31 at the Oval.
Kotak emphasized that Bumrah's fitness does not immediately guarantee a place in the match, stating, "No discussion on Jasprit Bumrah playing. Bumrah is fit now." He added that the final call will involve head coach, the team physio, and the captain after considering Bumrah's workload.
Bumrah, who has been India's standout bowler in the series with 14 wickets, was previously advised against playing consecutive Tests due to a stress reaction in his back earlier this year. With the series at a delicate 1-2, the decision on Bumrah's inclusion is pivotal as India aims to level the series in London.
