Zverev acknowledged his performance wasn't his finest but expressed satisfaction in overcoming adversity. 'Lucky to get through in the first set and finish it off in two,' Zverev remarked.
Coco Gauff, meanwhile, fought valiantly against Danielle Collins, clinching a 7-5, 4-6, 7-6(2) win despite 23 double faults and 74 unforced errors. Gauff's determination saw her through a tense match, and she expressed hope that her performance would improve in subsequent rounds.
