Wallabies scrumhalf Nic White will retire from international rugby after this weekend's crucial third test against the British & Irish Lions, according to Rugby Australia. The 35-year-old, expected to earn his 73rd cap, will play at Sydney's Stadium Australia in a must-win match for Australia.
White, renowned for his signature moustache, was absent from the 2013 Lions series because of injury, but has since represented Australia in two World Cups. Expressing pride in his international career, White reflected on achieving his childhood dream of wearing the gold jersey, with one last opportunity this Saturday.
Despite having to relinquish potential test caps due to five years with Montpellier and Exeter Chiefs in Europe, White returned to Canberra with the ACT Brumbies in 2020. Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt praised White's enduring competitiveness and team-first mentality as he prepares to announce the squad for the third test.
