The Macau Open witnessed a strong performance from Indian shuttlers as Paris 2024 semifinalist Lakshya Sen and the celebrated men's doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty advanced to the quarterfinals. Sen secured his spot by defeating Indonesia's Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo in a thrilling 21-14, 14-21, 21-17 match lasting over an hour.

Meanwhile, Tharun Mannepalli delivered a major upset by toppling top seed Lee Cheuk Yiu from Hong Kong in a nail-biting 19-21, 21-14, 22-20 victory. However, US Open winner Ayush Shetty couldn't join the ranks, falling to Malaysia's Justin Hoh 21-18, 21-16, in the pre-quarters.

In men's doubles, ninth-ranked Satwik and Chirag resiliently fought back from a game down to defeat Japan's Kakeru Kumagai and Hiroki Nishi, winning 10-21, 22-20, 21-16 after saving a match point. Other Indian contenders in various categories, including the women's doubles team Priya Konjengbam and Shruti Mishra, faced exits, marking mixed fortunes for the Indian shuttle squad.
