Lucas Paqueta, the West Ham forward, has been cleared of allegations related to spot-fixing after accusations emerged of deliberately receiving yellow cards to manipulate betting markets.

On Thursday, the English Football Association declared that an independent panel ruled the accusations against the Brazilian international as unproven, bringing closure to a case that extended over several months.

Despite being charged in May 2024 with FA Rule E5 breaches concerning the integrity of matches, the panel only upheld charges for failing to provide information during the investigation. The FA is set to decide on the sanction soon.
