In a sparkling display of skill and determination, Indian wrestlers Rachana and Ashvini Vishnoi emerged victorious at the U17 World Championships, each claiming gold in the women's 43kg and 65kg categories, respectively. Rachana delivered a flawless 3-0 win over China's Xin Huang, whereas Ashvini similarly dispatched Uzbekistan's Mukhayyo Rakhimjonova.
Meanwhile, Moni narrowly missed out on a gold medal in the 57kg category, losing 5-6 in a gripping final against Kazakhstan's Madkhiya Usmanova, and settled for a silver medal instead. Komal Verma added to India's medal tally by seizing bronze in the 49kg event, demonstrating an aggressive technique in her 8-3 victory against Anhelina Burkina.
India's presence at the championships is far from over, as Yashita and Kajal are guaranteed at least silver in their upcoming title bouts for the 61kg and 73kg categories. However, not all Indian participants reached the podium, as Preeti Yadav, Kasish Gurjar, and Saarika were eliminated in their respective quarterfinal matches.
