Helio Sousa Takes Charge: Leading Kuwait's Football Ambitions
Portuguese coach Helio Sousa has been appointed as the new coach for Kuwait's national football team. Taking over from Juan Antonio Pizzi, Sousa aims to replicate his success with Bahrain, as the Kuwaiti Football Association confirms a contract until 2027, reportedly worth $1.6 million annually.

Portuguese coach Helio Sousa has been appointed as the head of Kuwait's national football team, as announced by the Kuwait Football Association (KFA) on Thursday. The appointment comes after the expiration of Juan Antonio Pizzi's contract earlier this year.
Without delving into specifics, the KFA welcomed Sousa to Kuwait through a post on X. Reports suggest that Sousa has entered a substantial contract with the KFA, set to run until 2027 and valued at approximately $1.6 million per annum.
Sousa's previous successes with Bahrain, where he led the team to the West Asian Football Federation Championship and the Gulf Cup in 2019, make him a sought-after figure in regional football. His new role in Kuwait marks a significant step in his coaching career.
