Carles Perez, the 27-year-old former Barcelona forward, had to forgo a key UEFA Conference League match with Greek side Aris after a dog bite incident.
Perez, on loan at Aris, suffered a leg injury when attempting to separate his dog from another during a walk. The injury required stitches, leaving him unable to compete against Azerbaijani club Araz-Naxçivan.
Despite his absence, Thursday's match ended in a 2-2 draw, resulting in Araz-Naxçivan advancing with a 4-3 aggregate score. Perez expects to rejoin his team shortly after recovering at home.
