In an unexpected turn of events at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Formula One stewards issued a reprimand to Red Bull after a peculiar incident involving Max Verstappen. The driver's unusual disposal of a face towel onto the track became the centre of attention during practice sessions at the Hungaroring.
The incident unfolded when Verstappen, a four-time world champion, was seen throwing a towel from his car after it inadvertently slipped from his lap inside the garage. Despite attempting to remove it safely, the towel landed on the track, presenting a potential hazard.
The stewards concluded that while the towel posed some danger, Verstappen's actions avoided a more serious risk had it remained in the car. Nevertheless, they determined the car's release was unsafe, albeit less severe than other infractions, leading to a formal warning for the team.
