Vedika Bhansali of Bengaluru held her tied second position after the second round at the US Kids World Championship, held in Pinehurst Village. Vedika, who ranked fourth a year ago, shot rounds of 33, totaling six-under and staying one shot behind US leader Audrey Zhang (32-33).
Aida Thimmaiah excelled in the Boys 12 category, jumping 18 spots to tie for fifth with a stunning four-under 68 round, which included five birdies and just one bogey, after his initial 75.
From girls 12, Ojaswini Saraswat improved her performance, shooting 68 after an initial 70, tying for ninth at six-under, three shots behind leaders Riviera Lindholm and Zara Stanley at nine-under. The results demonstrate young Indian golfers' promising performances in international tournaments.
