In a thrilling display at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Formula One frontrunner Oscar Piastri showcased his prowess by clocking the fastest lap, effectively ending McLaren teammate Lando Norris's streak of dominance from the previous day.
The practice session saw Piastri completing the best lap in 1:14.916, a narrow 0.032 seconds ahead of Norris, reinforcing his lead in the championship by 16 points after 13 of the season's 24 races.
While Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton followed in third and fourth, notable performances from Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli and Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso added to the competitive mix. Red Bull's Max Verstappen, however, only managed 12th in a surprising turn of events.
